Meet Suki, Assistant Shop Manager in our St Oswald’s Hospice Gosforth shop and Shaun the Sheep enthusiast!

What were your first thoughts when you found out about Shaun on the Tyne?

I was so excited, I almost broke the floor from jumping up and down for joy as it was completely unexpected. I happen to be a big fan of Shaun the Sheep, so finding out that St Oswald’s Hospice were hosting the trail was just the best news ever. I knew I needed to get involved with anything Shaun related as soon as I could.

What is it that you like about Shaun the Sheep?

I really love all the fun adventures Shaun and his friends go on. They are always getting in and out of trouble! I’ve been watching the show since it started back in 2007. I feel like all the sheep have been part of my life for a long time.

I find the show really funny and easy to watch and love that both children and grownups can enjoy the show. I also love how the show is so beautifully crafted by hand on a tiny scale. I’m very curious about everything that happens at Mossy Bottom Farm, and one day, I would like to visit the Shaun the Sheep farm in Japan!

Have you got a favourite character?

Yes! My favourite character is Timmy. He is a tiny lamb with a big heart. He is a handful of trouble at every turn, but the farm would be so boring without him.

How long have you been watching Shaun the Sheep?

I can’t remember how long exactly but it’s probably since the show started back in 2007. I feel like all the sheep have been part of my life for a long time.

Did Shaun the Sheep really feature in your wedding?

Yes! So for our wedding reception my husband and I wore the Shaun the Sheep headbands. They were a gift from Vicki one of the Retail area managers. She handstitched the custom headbands and gave them to us as a surprise just before our wedding because she knew how much we both loved Shaun the Sheep.

Have you got a favourite Shaun on the Tyne trail sculpture?

Oooh, well I haven’t seen them all yet but there are some really cool ones. I really like the Hancock Gallery’s Shaun that has its head through the painting – Art is Mischief.

I can’t wait to see all the Shauns! I have the app, the map…I’ve got everything ready!
