Jina Gelder is a wildlife artist and illustrator based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She loves expressing life and movement in her work, and making people smile with her paintings.
Shaunshine came to life from working with the incredible team at Ouseburn Farm. Working on the theme ‘A Place for Growing’ he celebrates some of the farm’s resident animals and showcases some of the fruit, vegetables and plants they grow. The artist wanted to capture the vibrancy of the farm and the sunbeams symbolise life and energy. Sunflowers represent happiness, positivity and strength but are also used by people with hidden disabilities to raise awareness and promote understanding within society. Shaunshine also promotes the sustainability of Ouseburn Farm as much of their produce is used locally within their own cafe and local businesses. Shaunshine is a collaboration of ideas with the art group on the farm and we hope his cheerful positive vibes will brighten your day.
It’s farewell to our fab-ewe-lous flock!
