A sheep, on the loose in a Cathedral? Don’t worry, our Shaun is on his very best behaviour!

The reason for his visit was to drop in say ‘How do Ewe do?’ to another of our trail sponsors, Newcastle Cathedral. They are first time sponsors of an art trail; and new to working with St Oswald’s Hospice, but we know it’s going to be a perfect partnersheep. The beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral is certainly a departure from Mossy Bottom Farm!

The Revd Canon Clare MacLaren, Canon for Music & Liturgy, said:

“The whole team at Newcastle Cathedral – staff, clergy and volunteers – are delighted to be join the flock by sponsoring one of the ‘Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne’ sculptures. St Oswald’s held an event at the Cathedral last November, and it was inspirational to learn more about all the ways the Hospice cares for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The trail will help support and raise awareness of this incredible work, and there’ll also be an exciting Learning Programme connected to the trail, which we look forward to promoting. We hope families pop into the Cathedral on their way to find the various Shauns!”

The Cathedral team has some great events planned to make the most of their involvement and we are over the moon to be working alongside them and this stunning building in the centre of our city. Look out for announcements coming soon and roll on the summer!
